Friday, September 25th - B Day

The Cross Country team had another meet last night in Stillwater.  Even though it rained a little, it didn’t stop them from having some amazing finish times and a couple of personal records. Congratulations to the Cross Country Team. Remember that there is no cross country practice today and we have a home meet next Tuesday. 

There are NO HMS sports practices today after school!

Do you love creating art? Come join the Art Club! There will be an informational meeting after school next Friday, October 2nd. Meet in Mrs. Berg’s room 168.

If you are creative and want to make an impact at our school, apply for Student Council!  Applications can be found in Mrs. Fravel’s or Mrs. Vedders classrooms, the media center, or the wellness center. Applications are due October 8th. If you have any questions about Student Council, contact Mrs. Fravel or Mrs. Vedders.

Thanks for all the incredible participation in the Bookmark Design contest. We had around 50 different designs submitted. Congratulations to all the winners! These bookmark designs will be printed and available in the Media Center and Language Arts classrooms next week. We will be starting our HMS Fall Reading Challenge soon, so stay tuned! 

Remember today we have a modified schedule and we will end our day with an assembly. 

After the 6th hour today you will transition to your advisory class and walk with your advisory class to the assembly.

Thursday, September 24th - A Day

Spirit week ends with Raider Day dress up tomorrow! Show your school spirit and rock that blue and gold! Get ready for the pep fest too at the end of the day:)

E-Bike Reminder: We are seeing more e-bikes at HMS. Students riding e-bikes to school must be at least 15 years old. Our middle school students are not old enough to meet this requirement, as a result students should not be riding e-bikes to Hastings Middle School. Please make other transportation arrangements and leave e-bikes at home. Thank you for helping keep arrival and dismissal safe!

7th and 8th graders interested in registering for the Washington DC trip- there is an optional meeting tonight 7-7:30pm in the HMS auditorium for parents to attend.  Come hear about this non-school sponsored trip and all the special promotions at this time. 

-About 40 students crossed the MN / WI border to fish in Prescott yesterday after school with the HMS outdoor club. Even though there weren’t a lot of fish caught, a good time was had by all.

Wednesday, September 23rd - B Day

Tomorrow for spirit week is a crazy mismatch day: find some bright colors and patterns or maybe two different shoes! It’s gonna be ~CRAZY~

Outdoor Club kids that are attending the fishing trip today–make sure to go to Mr. Shemon’s room right after school for a brief meeting.

Tuesday, September 22nd - A Day

Cross Country had a meet last night at Lake Elmo Park. We had some tough competition. Congratulations to all of our top place winners!

Girls tennis won over Skyview yesterday 4-3. Way to go girls!

Tomorrow for spirit week is sports day- come in your best uniforms or rep your favorite teams! 

Writing Club starts today after school in Ms. Schumacher’s room, room 205 from 2:45-3:30. Anyone 5th - 8th grade is welcome to come and check it out!
